Generational blessings III
Genesis 39:5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
In Genesis 39 we see a generational blessing at work in Joseph’s life, a beloved son of Jacob. Earlier in his life, Jacob, his father gave him a coat of many colours which signifies favour. When joseph was sold to Egypt by his brothers, because of the favour that was on him, Egypt became the food basket for the entire world. A whole generation was about to die but because of Joseph, it was saved.
Joseph is a picture of Christ. Christ is the beloved Son of our Father, favored and loved by Him but was hated so much and betrayed by his own brethren, the Jews. Jesus was betrayed and handed over by the Jews to the Romans to be killed and for 2000 years Jesus ended up in the hearts of Egyptians(gentiles) like you and me and has been a blessing ever since. Nowonder everywhere the church goes it becomes a blessing for generations to the entire community. It is because of the generational blessing we have in Christ.
Child of God, you should not get worried whether they will ever prosper in life. You cannot fail when you have your Joseph (Christ) in you. You will be a blessing to many generations wherever you go. The generational blessing will be evident to your family because you have received the heavenly Joseph, Christ in you, hallelujah.
Amen
