Giving rules I

1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

The spiritual life is not lived by accident. There are rules or principles or laws or precepts that govern it so that there is order. It is similar to a house. For it to stand there are fundamental parts of it that must be in place before it does so. These parts ought to be strong enough for the house to stand otherwise the investment will ho to ruins. Some of those parts are what we call structural elements like the foundation, columns, beams, slabs and roof trusses. 

You do well to know these fundamentals or essential parts thoroughly well so that you are a partaker of the blessing that come with practicing them well. This includes giving.

If you happen to be new in a field or organisation, the first thing any wise person does is to know the rules that govern that field or organisation. If they are written down are are accessible to you, grab a hold of them amd immerser yourself in them. Sometimes there are unwritten laws which you get to know by mere observation. You better know them too. God has put His rules in His Word. If it is not in the Word, don't believe it. 

In the next few weeks we are going to look at various rules that govern giving especially giving of offerings in church. As a church we are in a season of Cheerful giving where we worship God with our giving towards the building of churches and buying church properties. Like the sons of Issachar who had the understanding of the times, we are cannot let this season pass us by for seasons are not forever.

A year of good things

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Years represent new seasons. Every season God has a specific word for us His children that we need to run with. When we run the year based on that Word, our results will be evident. In this season as the Streams of life and Nations churches God gave us a word through our Father Bishop Gerald Mwebe that we are going to have good things.  Last year 2025, was a year of great grace. This year God prophetically is giving us good things. One of the good things He has already given us is the gospel. The gospel is the message we preach and live by. We need to realise as believers that we have a message which will touch lives not only in this world but for eternity. The gospel is not only for non believers but for nonbelievers also. God first

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. God deserves our worship, love and time. Our lives need to be rotated around Him in all that we do.  The Bible says we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things shall follow. That scripture is contrary to popular thinking nowadays which advocates that people are masters of their destinies. Only the humble can try to live by it. That scripture does not say we should do other things and then seek God about them. On the other hand we should first go to Him for direction and then other things should follow.  That is why Sunday according to our numbering of days is called the first day and it is on such a day that we go worship God in the church.
