Lines of responsibility

2Kings 6:14-17 So [the Syrian king] sent there horses, chariots, and a great army. They came by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God rose early and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. Elisha's servant said to him, Alas, my master! What shall we do? [Elisha] answered, Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them. Then Elisha prayed, Lord, I pray You, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the young man's eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Man usually doesn't want to take responsibility for the things that are happening in their lives because of wrong thinking and wrong believing and wrong acting.

For instance God has done all He could in His power to provide salvation for mankind by sending Jesus to die for us. But we are responsible to believe in what God did through sending His son to die for us for it to be effectual in our lives. God won't force salvation on us since Adam out of his will committed high treason and rejected God in the first place in the garden of Eden.

Since Man willingly rejected God in the beginning, in the same way man out of his will has to accept the Lord from the heart and confess Him as Lord for him to be saved. There is a God-ward and man-ward part in order for man to be  saved. Technically speaking men have been saved from their sins but have to fulfill another law that is the law of faith for that salvation to become a reality in their lives.

God will not do for man what man is responsible for. If that was so then everyone would be saved, healed and delivered. All would be imparted on us by God's power without our input. Man has to take responsibility for his actions. "The devil made me do it" doesn't work here. Or "God is all powerful and He can do whatever He wants." All such statements testify to the fact that man doesn't want to be partly to blame for the happenings in his life.

If you say God has power to do all He wants to then all would speak in tongues, open blind eyes, preach the word without first believing in the truth about the same and then acting on it. God deals with us according to our faith. The promises of God will not come to pass in your life easily like a ripe mango fruit falling off a tree. No, faith on your part has to be there.

People blame God for unanswered prayer with statements like, "maybe it's not God's will for this to happen." Of course it's not God's will for you to get another person's wife, for His protection to rob the bank because He hasn't provided that for you in His Word or through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. If it's in the Word, you have a right to believe for it and claim it to happen. But if it isn't there forget it. God ain't creating anything new, He created all and rested.

To even take it deeper, what we even call promises are actually promises to the old testament believer but for the new testament child of God they are spiritual realities. So they do exist spiritually though not visible in the natural realm. So it's right to say you and I already have these things. Salvation through Jesus Christ was promised to the patriarchs Abraham and the prophets but to us it's already a reality we look back to.

For that matter you don't pray for the promise of righteousness, healing,  prosperity, wisdom to come to pass in your life. Pray and talk as one who knows and has them as real possessions in the realm of the spirit which are yet to manifest in the body.

We see a biblical precedent for that in the scriptures when Elisha prayed for his servant that God could simply open his eyes to see the heavenly chariots of fire which surrounded them in another realm, that is the spiritual realm. So the prayer there was for God to open their eyes to acknowledge what they had not to send protection. He was not in fear because he knew that he was protected. Many pray for God to protect them, heal, deliver them yet those things are already given to them m in the spirit if they are born again.

You need to take your life to another level when you start taking responsibility for your christian walk. If certain things are not happening as you want them, instead of saying your waiting on God, God is waiting on you to know what you have and claim it in order to come to pass in the natural.

Take responsibility for your life today based on God's word today.
