Peace from God

John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives." The Peace we receive from God through the Holy Spirit is different from that which the world gives. True peace is not what you do on the outside or from the environment but it is from the inside.  The world will tell you to seek peace by getting yourself a massage, listen to soft music or go far away where you will be quiet and all alone. But you cannot have all these at all times. If you are a nursing mother or taking care of toddlers, expect noise and shouting, if you are in a workplace, there are times when you won't see things the same way with your colleagues, if you take a taxi, the conductor may speak unkind words to you, if you live in a rented place, the landlord can put you off, the list is endless.  But how can one have peace, an inner sense of rest and calm at such times and not through the impossible way of avoidance of conflict or troubling situations that ...

Remembrance

John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The Holy Spirit brings things to your remembrace simply because He's loving and caring.  Those of you who reach an exam and forget. You need the Holy Spirit to remind you what you read. There even small things like forgetting to turn off the gas, locking your door of the house or car. These some small but can be fatal.  Professionals too can do life threatening mistakes. For instance, engineers who make errors or forget to include some parameters while designing a system or a building can lead to death of many people once the system or building fails. There are some things I remember while praying or in my quiet time that I didn't include in my structural design model of a building and that means a lot because the risk is high for a lot time will be lost, money and lives if I mis...

Truth and wisdom

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. The Holy Spirit is a teacher. He will teach you all things. He will make you wise in the affairs of life. He will guide you in all things. You will be wiser than you would on your own without His wisdom.  The spirit of wisdom will be working on you. If you ever get blessed to get close to a spirit-filled person, you will get to know that they are wise. Kenneth Hagin said he had never made a mistake in his life in 50 years. His secret was simply following the Holy Spirit. Some people make costly mistakes that put them in so much trouble. But as for you, as you follow the Holy Spirit, you will avoid them. The spirit of wisdom that operated on Joseph, Solomon, Daniel, and his friends, etc, was by the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit, they were ordinary men.  I ...

The Holy Spirit II

John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. Jesus in his physical body was seen as a goto person in everything that the disciples needed. When they needed to feed the 5000 and 4000, it was Him. When Peter was broke andhad no taxes, Jesus told him to go get it from a fish. When they were drowning, they cried to Jesus for help and He rescued them. They acted like children before Him. Surely as long as we are in these bodies with a failed Adamic nature, we are by nature weak and need all the supernatural help we can ever get and the Holy Spirit is there to help us because He knows we are weak. So many people need help, and yet some are aware but do nothing, others are aware and are reaching out to God for help while some are not aware ...

The Holy Spirit I

Luke 11:11-13 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Human beings however much they are influenced by demons so much cannot reach an extent of acting so unnatural and unhuman like the contrasts Jesus made in this passage. No parent could do otherwise than to wish the best for his children. God too has a gift for us to aid us in prayer and that is the Holy Spirt. He helps us too in other ways too and bestows us more graces because of the Holy Spirit.  The best gift our heavenly father can give is not a car or a house, although he gives them; it is the Holy Spirit.   The more of the Holy Spirit you have, the more you will ever need Him. We need to reach out and re...

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy. God through the Holy Spirit Gifts men to aid them in the ministry. Without that aid ministry may seem like any other work out there. We have had situations where some believers mask their real selves. And you walk with a fellow who you do not know at all only to get to know the person later on when they pull and move which makes you wonder whether you really knew the person the way you thought you would. May the Lord grant us a spirit of discernment to know who is who and what we ought to do and ought not to do so that we do not waste time on unserious relations which may not amount to anything.  I have come to realise that as we are pursuing the anointing hard enough, desiring to serve God more than ever before, some do not think the same way. Others just want to company along and simply have a good time or come along when hard pressed on big gatherings. May God also help open o...

Your ordinary unless you're anointed

1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. Recently I sat in a train and next to me was a group of about three ladies that were seated next to me. All I heard from them was outings, drinking, partying, men and how to get money from this man or that etc. I thought to myself which world am I in? I really felt strange and as though I was being corrupted while I was there, swallowed up in the book I was reading! Could i even concentrate anymore? I tried but in vain. Why was it strange to me? Because all I know on my agenda is prayer meetings, fellowships, evangelism etc. That's my life. I am God minded, they are self minded. But what causes such a difference was the anointing. I am sure if I had opened my mouth to talk to them about how weird their lifestyle is, they would call me mad. They would think am being too holy and righteous. By the way I overheard them say that they have some kind of religion they belong to. Why hasn't the religion been ...
