Basic gifts

Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.), Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The word gift is Charisma while gifts is Charismata in Greek language. Both come from a root word Charis which is known as Grace. It means all gifts are received by the grace of the giver who is God. No one can merit the grace or the gift they got. We normally use that word grace in Christian circles often. For example, "there's a grace of worship, care, giving, etc. on your life." This is when your seeing God operate through someone in a special way which is not common to all. Now remember there are those who care naturally for people but there those who supernaturally started caring for people or intercede or operate a certain way the day they got saved and were baptised with the Holy Spirit. Meaning it could only be accredited to God and not the natural inclination. The natural inclination too is of God though for every good and perfect gift is from above.

All gifts are special ways by which grace has manifested or been revealed. Christians relate so much with the spectacular ones like healing, performing miracles etc. There are others which are not spectacular but they are also supernaturally given.

We can simply call them basic gifts without which we cannot flow in other gifts. They are a must have. Meaning if one doesn't have them then they are not Christians to begin with. This should help you separate who is a cult or not. Because cults too operate in the supernatural. If the seed is bad, then the fruit is bad. Some look to the fruit without checking the seed. They see every man of God as true and naively say the end justifies the means. No that statement is poison. We need the means to be right so that the end is also right. To express it simply, it doesn't matter how you got here, the mere fact that you are here, then your good. Such a way of thinking has some element of truth but we ought to be careful when treading along with such a way of thinking.

There are basic Christian gifts every believer should have. They are righteousness and eternal life.

The main ones are righteousness and eternal life. Others which come alongside these which we can also boast to having received them by our faith in Christ include faith, hope, love, wisdom, sanctification, redemption, wisdom etc. These are given to the believer by virtue of us being in Christ. Simply put, we are graced with righteousness, eternal life, faith, love, sanctification, hope, etc. There's a certain way I will hope, believe, love because I received it as a gift of God within my spirit rather than try to do it in my own strength.

No Christian therefore can say that they cannot love Iike Jesus, have faith like Jesus, or do what Jesus did in His earthly body for we are one with Christ in our spirits. The Bible says of His fullness have we received, grace for grace.

If you cannot receive righteousness freely by faith, then you cannot measure up to the righteousness God desires. Now that someone is made righteous, then they qualify to receive eternal life plus other gifts. Eternal life too is a gift you cannot receive by working for it. Eternal life is an intimate relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ.

If one can't receive God's kind of love, faith, Hope etc in his spirit, then God would be unjust to command them to walk in love, faith and hope. God first places these gifts and abilities within us before we can work them out. Bible says we should work out our salvation. We work out what He has worked within us, hallelujah.
