How do curses manifest?

Deuteronomy 28:15-ff But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Cursed [shalt] thou [be] in the city, and cursed [shalt] thou [be] in the field. Cursed [shall be] thy basket and thy store.

It's important to clearly identify regular patterns and the root causes of them. We may or may not know the cause but it's important to know that there's a problem, a recurrent pattern etc. Things don't just happen. Life is more spiritual than you think. Curses manifest in some of these ways as Deut 28:15ff lists them; poverty, unproductiveness, defeat, failure, family breakdowns etc. It's also common for some people to fall on accidents every now and then, have miscarriages, repeated undiagnosable illnesses, financial insufficiency etc.

One might think it's their lack of this or lack of that but it maybe deeper than that. Take times to pause and reflect about life and the various happenings around you, there's a wisdom to it. David says teach me to number my days that I may apply my heart unto wisdom. We have been wired one of these days to ever be on the run but not pause to observe, reflect and act. That's the source of even unproductiveness in some areas of our lives. Nowadays getting someone to have 30 minutes of quiet time is so hard yet they can have all the time to engage in social media, gossip and useless socialising. Partying is the order of the day. If you are spiritual you need to slow down and get personal retreats to think about life, your impact and eternity generally. May God give you revelation why certain things are the way they are and what you need to practically do about them.

Do you know that confusion is a curse? Deuteronomy 28:28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart. What the Bible lists as astonishment here is confusion in other translations. In other versions it's panic. What a revelation. It's not normal for you to live in such tendencies which modern philosophies say it's okay. Nowadays people have coined phrases like it's okay for family members to have some fights sometimes. No it's not okay. Confusion, panics, fights etc are all of the enemy. Chaos and strikes too have been normalised in some circles but still you realize it's the work of the devil.

Society has also embraced sickness. You hear some call some sickness, "my sickness". You can't afford to do that. Neither can you embrace abnormalities in society as "that's Uganda, or Africa". No no no. It's the work of the devil to normalise sin so that men continue in bondage. Nowadays sin has been camouflaged as "a weakness". Failure has been embraced as normal, yet it's a curse. You find a woman having multiple children from different fathers and they call it freedom. Many can't last in marriage and they think it's okay. Some start houses and don't complete them and they think it's normal. Some are into debt and they even say that none can build a house or start a business debt free. All these are listed in curses.

No one wants to be judged that they are out of God's will or perhaps it's a family history of sin that led them to that place. Every one want to be good even when they have issues to deal with concerning their relationship with God is concerned. It's the trend society is taking of inclusivity. Everyone worshipping their gods, instead of the one true God and you even hear believers say, "leave them." I normally get pissed when I see believers wishing good other people of other gods well on their special days. In my mind am like do they really know what they are doing? Why not preach to them salvation so that they come to the Lord instead of affirming their beliefs by acknowledging their special days? That's pluralism.

What God denounces as evil and rebellion, we should denounce and promote what He promotes. Read the entire chapter of Deuteronomy to discover more.
