Made complete by the new creature in us
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more. Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
A pastor and a physics teacher do almost the same thing, teaching but the difference is that the physics teacher is one who speaks to the mind while a pastor speaks to the hearts of men. It would be a shock to hear that someone in a physics class told his teacher that the physics they have been taught have touched their heart. But we always hear it every now and then that the people we preach to God's word have been touched by the messages we preach.
God's Word, which is taught on the pulpits is Spirit and life and we should endeavour to relate to it spiritually. You also need to relate with the altar from which it is taught in a spiritual way, even to your pastors who teach it. If only you can see that this person, your pastor is a messenger from God, you will be greatly blessed. Even for God to use you properly, he cannot do it unless you are changed in the way you see and relate to spiritual things. Jesus told Nicodemus that he has to first get born again (changed from inside) in order to enter or even see the kingdom of God.
In case you have other plans when it comes to serving and relating to church things, stop it immediately. Church is not about money or advancing personal causes. This is God's thing and is spiritual. Why write all this, my point is that Christianity is more than going to church or having our prayers answered. It is about us becoming new creations in Christ at the point when we were born again. Yesterday I wrote about the aspect of ours being made complete in Christ because we were forgiven. But that's not all. We were also made new creatures in Christ. If Jesus forgave us but dis not empower us to live apart from sin, we would be no different from the non saved people.
You need to think of a new creation like a new born baby. I don't think people have multiple physical births. People do not reincarnate into something else like some religions teach. Being born again is to bring into being someone anew who has never before existed. A new born baby has nor record of sin or even the memory of it. That is us in our new born spirits. They have no history of sin. They are new. Completely new.
The day you see yourself as a new being, without any trace of sin in you or a record of sin in the past, it is the day you will be changed. Change happens from the inside out. The prayer which comes in the form of, "may God make you a new creature this year," is invalid. We are already made new. All we have to do is to live by the new man in us. You do not have the sin nature resident in you any more. It is dead. There's a new man inside you. The new man is not after the nature of Adam but Christ, hallelujah.
How does this make you relate to God in a complete way? You will stop searching for teachings, practices or individuals on the internet or in person which promise you of a new you yet you are already new. Even when you go for them, their effect is not as big compared to the one God did at your salvation. They come in all sorts of catchy titles I would not relay here, and they try to rob you of your true inheritance.
The main work which God does is to make you a new being in your spirit man. This chnage affects your soul and your body too. The Word of God does that. Trying to feed on books, materials or causes which change the soulish (mental, emotional, psychological) parts or the body parts will only bring a temporal change but not a lasting change.
The Bible, God's word can be used for many things but it's primary role is to speak to our new being, the spirit man in us, which then affects our souls and bodies.
