Ministry burden

Mat 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The Lord gives rest in a certain way. How does it do it? By offloading us with yokes and burdens and loading us with His yoke and burden, which is the ministry burden.

Many are not enjoying their Christian life simply because they have not fully carried the yoke that Jesus gives. Since there is no neutral ground for them to occupy, the enemy takes advantage and loads them with his burdens. You will be loaded with either one or the other. The enemy cannot load you with a burden if you have the Lord’s burden already. Some of the enemy's burdens are diseases and sicknesses.

Like I mentioned before, the yoke and burden of the Lord is the ministry. Once your burden becomes the burden to see members added to the church, raising ministers, and seeing his kingdom advancing, you will cease to be a prayer item. Many who are not carrying the ministry burden are burdened with disease, stress, sickness, etc and seek all sorts of prayers every now and then, they are ever hearing but not coming to the full comprehension of the mystery of God, ever fearful of what the future holds, are ever caught in compromising situations and end up in indulging the flesh that makes them draw back.

I have a pastor friend who told us that the reason he makes his members stay at church on Sunday for long hours from morning until evening is that he is helping some to avoid tempting situations when they are all on their own on the only day of rest they have. He argues that since they are occupied in the week with work, on their free day, they tend to be tempted by all manner of temptations. So, burdening them with training evening services is good to keep them at bay. This is true with social media; if you are not addicted to searching for things that edify you spiritually, you will end up in natural or carnal things that appeal to the flesh and not to the things of the Spirit.

There is a saying that says an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Also, Jesus said we should love God with all our hearts, minds, strength, and souls. This means whenever men are not engaging their minds to serve God, they will serve themselves, the world, or the devil. From today, decide to be preoccupied with the ministry burden with all your mind, soul, heart, and strength.
