Obedience
Genesis 28:1-2 NLT
[1] So Isaac called for Jacob, blessed him, and said, “You must not marry any of these Canaanite women. [2] Instead, go at once to Paddan-aram, to the house of your grandfather Bethuel, and marry one of your uncle Laban’s daughters.
God places different people in our lives for a reason. They guide us, protect us, give us counsel. Have you identified those people God has placed in your life, or in a particular season? Are you obeying them?
In the above Scripture Isaac commanded Jacob not to marry a Canaanite woman, so he went where his Father told him. On his journey he met God. If he hadn't gone, am sure, he would have missed God.
The beauty with obedience is that you can never miss God. But at times we forget and want to operate in our own wisdom or choose not to listen to the people God has placed in our midst in such times. Other things suddenly become more important than the voice of God. We allow the voice of circumstance, reason, experiences overrule the voice of God.
Child of God resist the urge to obey other things besides God. Let the voice of God be louder than every other voice for therein you will easily move in obedience to God's will.
