Trust in marriage
Psalms 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.
Trust is like virginity once it is broken it's hard to mend it.
When trust is broken, you cannot enjoy the marriage union. It doesn't matter how long you have built the union, a single selfish act will bring it down. As much as you can, avoid acts like selling anything which belongs to both of you without informing your partner, telling lies, unfaithfulness, not informing your partner about your movements, etc.
Marriage should teach you to be accountable to the other person in all things, to be open about your fears or intentions you might be having. You may do something out of good intentions but if you aren't accountable before doing it, you might be mistaken. In times of financial crisis for example, taking a loan may appear nobel but disastrous at the same time if it's not agreeable to the two of you.
It is doubly stressful when the world is pressing you and at the same time you are not in good terms with your spouse. Whenever things are not okay with your partner, your productivity in all other aspects of life diminishes until the marriage issue is sorted.
God help us to honour our spouses by not breaking their trust.
