Unity makes work easier and lighter

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

When we celebrated our third anniversary as a church[Nations Church Kyambogo, in Kampala, Uganda] in November 2024, I saw unity in action. We worked, supported and planned together and the day was a great success. Unity work makes the burden easier and lighter.

Imagine three people carrying a load yet the other two on the extreme ends are not holding onto the load, it means the middle person will carry all of it and this will be heavy on him alone. But if they were to carry equally, they can go far with the load. One person can do much, more than one person can do so much more!

No one can hinder a work of a united team. It is unstoppable. It took only God in the bible to stop the men who were building a tower unto heaven by given each a different language,  Genesis 11.

Bishop Dag Heard Mills says that, "A mega church needs a strong pastor and a loyal leadership team." Without unity of the leaders, nothing big can be done.

It takes unity to bear children, to build a house, to plant a church etc. God doesn't operate with one man armies. He deals with teams.

He organised the children of Israel in their respective tribes. When it came to possessing the land of Canaan, the Reubenites got their potion first. But this did not stop them from joining the other tribes in helping them take possession of their lands, Joshua 22:1-5.

Jesus was in perfect union with the Father and the Holy Spirit in the creation of this world. If God created the world in unity, do you think you can do anything significant without this very important trait, never?

First things first, to exercise unity, get a local church where you can serve the vision of that ministry together with others. Bible says one can chase a thousand, two ten thousand, Deut 32:30. We can dare more, do more and go far if we put up a united front!

Though you should remember that unity is not sameness. We may not be having the same way we think something should be done [although the longer you stay together the more you are influenced to one line of thinking], but if we choose to be agreeable, we can work together. Agreeable is when you say something like, "I totally don't agree with everything being done or is about to be done but because it's you God has given the vision [the pastor or leader of any group], I choose to submit and work with you." Submission is when you surrender your will for the will of the leader. It's not that you don't have your will, you simply choose to follow another's will. If this is done, no amount of space would be enough to accommodate the churches we build or the businesses we intend to do. It is disunity that causes churches and businesses to fail. Why  bring down another man's entity by being disunited? If you can't serve under someone else's vision, go somewhere else where God is leading you or start your own ministry or business rather than tearing the other person's entity down with your disunity!

If you have your own vision and the leader has his, that is called division. If you want to be the head yet there's a head, that makes a weird creature with two heads.

Let's be one!!!
