Imagination of the thoughts of the heart

(Gen 6:5)  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

What are imaginations? Strong’s dictionary defines them as, “to mould into a form or to squeeze into shape. It also means to determine or form a resolution.” What comes out of such a process are images or pictures playing in one’s mind as a result of what man thinks about. Thoughts whether good or bad create images of what is to come before it actually comes to pass. A man can sit there with fearful thoughts and starts to imagine vain things about what is to come. They imagine how something will not work out, how they will fall into an accident, how they might die etc. thus weakening their faith and expectations. They simply resolve that something will not work out based on the wrong imaginations they have created in their hearts.

We might say it is not bad to consider what might or might not work and objectively find ways of overcoming the obstacles beforehand but simply dwelling on the thoughts and drawing images thereof without any intended course of correction thought about is what is bad. Some people just imagine out things in order to worry and feel weird if they don’t worry at all.

We need to plan our ways, not worry about our ways. And worry is when one dwells on negative imaginations. When negative imaginations come your way, stop them right there in their tracks, think on the Word and create positive imaginations immediately. If you fail to do so, you will continually have little hope, little joy, low in energy, create mountains out of anthills and despair of life.

Peace will rule in your heart if you imagine what the Word of God says about you and not what the devil throws at you in form of negative and fearful thoughts.  If an unborn gain man can have evil imaginations, it means the born-again man can have sanctified / holy imaginations. It is in your power to form good images, do not be helpless to let your thoughts wander aimlessly at anything that falls in your mind. I remember times when we wasted time brooding on wrong thoughts. Now I intentionally create time to form good resolutions in my mind how something will work out. In my experience, doing this has helped me make great advances in fulfilling the call of God on my life. I cannot even allow an excuse of whether I have ever done what God is telling to do before or not, I simply move by faith in the direction He leads and things align themselves.

Child of God refuse to waste your valuable time imagining what won’t work. think about what will work. This will energise you and keep you on track in fulfilling the call of God on your life.
