The church family


Ephesians 3:14-15 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

Church is one big family of God where He is the head and we are His children.

Church started meeting in the temple as well as in homes. Families in the world are breaking every now and then. Others are dysfunctional. It is not rare to hear of single mothers, or father's, orphans, etc.

What has God done about it? God has given us the gift of the church family. The church is the solution to our hurts due to broken families.

How then should we treat the church, we should treat it as one  family built by God. What makes a good family? The rhythms and activities in the family. There is time when families ought to eat together, play together, pray together etc. If these things are done and one person regularly misses, then there is a problem. Likewise if a family activity is called and only one person attends while the rest are going about their own business, still there is something wrong too.

Likewise when God gives a vision to one person to plant a church somewhere, it should be filled with people who are united as a family of the Lord. According to Mike Breene, Family is a place where everyone should contribute and be helped when they are in need. This therefore entails that church should be a lifestyle, not something we take as an event. In the family we ought to do life together, and meet as many times possible. In the family of God, expect to be cared for, eat together as a family, play together as a family, look out for others as a family, but at the same time we ought to do be on mission of preaching the gospel together, worship together, give thanks together, fast together etc.

Prayer, evangelism, church planting, doing crusades, Bible study, fellowshipping, helping the needed is all church family business therefore do not keep away from the rest as they are doing family business. Be involved. These activities are not for those that are gifted in those areas. We all should engage in them as activities where all are being discipled.

When a heart(soul) heals

Many hearts are wounded, broken, sick, depressed, bleeding but when the heart of a man heals, they start to live again. That man starts to blossom, to dream again, to shine brighter and to love again. Psalm 34:18, But the Lord is close to the broken hearts, to the wounded, frustrated ones, He is always there. Surprisingly many people are broken hearted and they don't know what to do. Because of the failure they have experienced before, they face shame and as a result they choose to hide themselves. Some end up committing suicide since they feel hopeless and their dreams beyond reach.  If you happen to be in this situation first and foremost you need to forgive yourself, release that anger and let go of the past. Secondly you need revelation of your identity in Christ. If you aren't born again, you need to first surrender to Jesus as Lord. A year of good things

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Years represent new seasons. Every season God has a specific word for us His children that we need to run with. When we run the year based on that Word, our results will be evident. In this season as the Streams of life and Nations churches God gave us a word through our Father Bishop Gerald Mwebe that we are going to have good things.  Last year 2025, was a year of great grace. This year God prophetically is giving us good things. One of the good things He has already given us is the gospel. The gospel is the message we preach and live by. We need to realise as believers that we have a message which will touch lives not only in this world but for eternity. The gospel is not only for non believers but for nonbelievers also.
