Spiritual gifts I


1 Corinthians 12:8-10 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:


The Holy Spirit has bestowed 9 spiritual gifts to the body of Christ. They are categorized as revelation gifts, power gifts and vocal gifts. Revelation gifts include the word of wisdom; the word of knowledge and discerning of spirits. Power gifts include faith; the gifts of healing; the working of miracles while vocal gifts include prophecy; [divers] kinds of tongues; interpretation of tongues. 


Word of wisdom is the Holy Spirit revealing the future to a man concerning a particular way in which something ought to be done. Word of knowledge is a revelation of things in the past concerning an individual. There are many examples in the Bible on how these two gifts were in operation.  These two gifts operate so strongly in the ministry of the prophet. Joseph operated in the prophetic when he prophesied how a drought would come in the land of Egypt. The word of wisdom was used when he directed how the Egyptians should store up enough food for the  years of drought which were to happen in the future. The word of wisdom is not the natural wisdom or wisdom of a genius, it's a revelation by the Spirit which one would not have ordinarily but it is revealed by the Spirit. Important to note about both word of wisdom and word of knowledge is the word "word." This means is it's simply a word and not the entire counsel of God which man cannot contain fully if God would reveal the whole of it to him at once. 


Jesus operated in the Word of knowledge when he saw Nathaniel sit under a fig tree, John 1:48. This is not knowledge about subjects you studied in school or about affairs of life but revelation by the the Spirit about a past event which one would not know by merely reading about it. 


The Spirit gives us these gifts as He wills to profit the body of Christ. Desire to walk in the word of wisdom and knowledge today.

When a heart(soul) heals

Many hearts are wounded, broken, sick, depressed, bleeding but when the heart of a man heals, they start to live again. That man starts to blossom, to dream again, to shine brighter and to love again. Psalm 34:18, But the Lord is close to the broken hearts, to the wounded, frustrated ones, He is always there. Surprisingly many people are broken hearted and they don't know what to do. Because of the failure they have experienced before, they face shame and as a result they choose to hide themselves. Some end up committing suicide since they feel hopeless and their dreams beyond reach.  If you happen to be in this situation first and foremost you need to forgive yourself, release that anger and let go of the past. Secondly you need revelation of your identity in Christ. If you aren't born again, you need to first surrender to Jesus as Lord. A year of good things

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Years represent new seasons. Every season God has a specific word for us His children that we need to run with. When we run the year based on that Word, our results will be evident. In this season as the Streams of life and Nations churches God gave us a word through our Father Bishop Gerald Mwebe that we are going to have good things.  Last year 2025, was a year of great grace. This year God prophetically is giving us good things. One of the good things He has already given us is the gospel. The gospel is the message we preach and live by. We need to realise as believers that we have a message which will touch lives not only in this world but for eternity. The gospel is not only for non believers but for nonbelievers also.
