Obedience causes blessings

Genesis 22:15-19 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son]: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which [is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

In proverbs 26:2, a curse has a cause. But also is a blessing. How does the blessing come into a person's life, by obedience. A curse too comes through disobedience.

Abraham was blessed of God because he didn't hesitate to offer Isaac. There was power in the words the angel spoke which affected the future of Abraham. Jacob too was blessed because he offered Isaac meat which he had requested Esau to bring. Had he not done so, he wouldn't have received any blessing. Bishop Gerald always tells us to be careful in our walk. When he sees a man walking in obedience, serving God diligently, that man is invoking a blessing in his life, children and children's children. The blessing will be generational. Abraham's blessing was generational. Isaac and Jacob partook of it. Likewise when someone walks in disobedience, rebellion, disloyalty, leaves the church anyhow, they may not know what they are doing but somewhere somehow, just have pity on their children and family. There's no one who walks carelessly in this life that will have a bright future or a good destiny, never.

So in all you do, just be careful to obey God. I never knew that when men of God caused us to fall in love with God a certain way they were helping us shape our future. For some reason we prayed, fasted, preached, gave, served not because we wanted to be blessed but because we were simply in love with God. Oh how we avoided curses and certain hurts which have affected those who didn't!

Spiritual things gain value overtime while natural ones lose value overtime. It's now that you look at the favours, promotions, the good family, the prosperity, a good church, good friends that you appreciate God's wisdom of walking by His Word. It pays to obey God, and the agents He has placed before you, and that's the pastors, leaders and elders. Your future is secured when you walk in obedience. You will enjoy the a hundred fold blessings on earth and in heaven, hallelujah!
