Perception

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart [is] not with thee.

The way we perceive things affects our reception of anything. If your way of perceiving the things of God is right, you will act rightly towards ministry, God's people and his ministers. The church has been painted poorly and men of God in particular by the media. This has affected the way people relate to the things of God. Believers ought to know that the church is not run on the opinions of men but the Word of God.  

Similarly when you hear words of darkness, it is darkness that will fill the heart, and that will dominate your perception. 

Perception is the way we think about something intuitively. It's our thought life about a matter. People of the melancholic personality are prone to have a tendency to be able to think deeper about things before they act. 

The things which have happened before in the past also affect the way we think about matters. If a girl has been raped before, sometimes if it's not the power of God's Word to help her change their attitude towards marriage, relationships and the opposite sex, it may be hard for them to get married or deal with men the right way. At times such an act opens them up to the demonic world and they become loose with anyone they find or they resent even the very idea of relationships leading to marriage. 

To men, if you think that culture or society has told you having multiple partners is cool, you're likely to move in that direction. 

Secular music for example corrupts our way of thinking. To some they don't care about the spirits behind the song, they simply go along with the flow. That's sad.

Worship music on the other hand empowers us to focus on God and be conscious about Him. Take note then of what you listen to and what you watch. 

Your mind plays the role of replaying what the eyes and ears have let inside the heart. Sometimes it is not finances you need, but the Word of God because it gives us wisdom and understanding, and the right way to perceive things.

Once one hears the word of God, it becomes that light which illuminates all darkness, eliminates past hurts and offenses and gives them God's way of thinking about all matters of life.

In all your pursuit, seek to know God's opinion about any aspect of life in his Word and your life will be steered in the right direction.
