Self imposed curses
Genesis 27:11-13 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother [is] a hairy man, and I [am] a smooth man: My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing. And his mother said unto him, Upon me [be] thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me [them].
Everyday majority of people find themselves in very tight situations and end up cursing themselves through the words they pronounce on themselves which gives the enemy the legal right to come and do havoc in their lives. Words like, " I am a failure, I cannot make it, I am good for nothing, everyone hates me, I am dead, No one will ever marry me," etc.
Now if they say them jokingly in conversations they may not take effect because as the Bible says as a man believes in his heart so is he. Some people never believe what they say that is why some pronouncements never take root but there are those who from deep in their subconscious mind it has really downed on them that they are failures, will never make it etc because of various occurrences that have happened in their lives. They really get to a point where they say what they mean and mean what they say based on external evidence and circumstances. At some point they have lost hope after trying endlessly but in vain.
Where in the bible do we see this. Rebecca the mother to Jacob declared that let a curse be on her instead of Jacob for disguising as Esau before his father Isaac. We never hear her mentioned again after this chapter meaning the curse ushered in her death. The Jews desired Jesus to be killed instead of Barabbas and went ahead to declare that let his blood be on us and our children. That curse on themselves has brought countless trouble to the Jews over the years for having killed an innocent person due to false accusations. Now both instances can be allegorically interpreted in light of death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ how he became sin for us that we may be made free.
Having known this, child of God let the Word of God be your meditation and daily pronouncement, let it be your daily profession for by it you will make your way prosperous and have good success.
