Soulish prayers or utterances

James 3:13-15 Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish.

Many believers make confessions in prayer not based on the word but according to what they feel at a time. Their feelings say something while the spirit man says another. In a way they confess upon themselves curses that affect their destinies.

In other cases such prayers are not made by you but by those who self proclaim as if they know what is best for you. These can be parents, friends, or even intercessors for that matter. Then there are some who not only want to tell you what God is saying, but influence every decision you intend to come up with. In a way they order your life based on their own way or by experience in the name of protecting you from making mistakes.

For that reason pastors should take charge of prayer sessions so that some who are operating in the prophetic or saying what the Lord is saying don't go overboard and say what they shouldn't. Their prophesies break down ministries, hurt relationships and destroy what has been built overtime.

Any form of control by words which is not Spirit led is demonic, soulish and carnal. And it sometimes comes in the name, "thus says the Lord." We need to discern well who should have an opinion or a say in our lives otherwise we risk hindering our great destinies God has curved out for us.

Parents sometimes fall victim especially in choosing mates for their children, and also affairs in the child's marriage. This is a ground one should tread well since it's affects autonomy and growth of the child in owning up their decisions. An opinion is good but the decision should be made by the person whom your giving the opinion so that at the end of the day the responsibility for the decision rests on them and not you.
