Fix your eyes on Jesus

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

As we run to fulfill God's call for our lives, it's important we learn to fix our eyes upon Jesus. Fixing there is likened to a dog fixing it's gaze or eyes on its owner having a piece of meat or bone about to throw it down and it quickly runs to grab it. I have seen cats also having such mannerisms. It is also likened to a waiter or waitress in a restaurant fixing their gaze on their customer just in case they need any service. Good waiters have one job and that's to meet their customers or client's needs. Once the client is served well, they will tip them a huge amount of money and also be assured that they will return next time.

Who's your master child of God? Whose servant are you? Who called you into the ministry? What is God up to? Are you waiting upon Him so that at a moments call you are readily available to serve Him or you are like some lousy waiters or waitresses who are on their phones busy on social media and not attentive to the client?

And by the way how many masters are you serving? You can only serve best if you served one at a time.

This generation needs to understand that the Bible was written in a time where slave trade was allowed in society then. So obedience was paramount. Slaves were bought from slave markets like you do to a good in a shop. A slave had no rights of his own. He didn't have a choice in the matters concerning what he had to do. The only thing on his mind was his master for the rest of his life. His master's agenda and needs were top priority. Not his own. He could be in bed before his master was to come back home that day and would stay awake serving his master. Do you know they wouldn't sleep before the master had finished his meals even when it was late in the night? Once we get such an attitude obeying God and the people he has placed over us will be easy.

The problem is now that we advocate our rights excessively. Human rights and freedoms are an idea of the world. God's desires for us are far much better than your own. We have lost an attitude of serving men without question. The world has gone diplomatic. Everything God says has to be debated whether He really meant what He said. We think nowadays that the Bible is old fashioned and has to be interpreted in light of our current situation yet the opposite is true. All such thinking hinders us from running well. We need to go back to ancient words and attitudes of our forefathers for they are ever true.

Why do people find it hard to obey God like those of Abraham without question? Their faith nowadays has conditions to it. It has to be qualified by some sign from above. If you tell someone today that God will provide, they look at you and ask you how, when, where? Thus says the Lord should be thus says the Lord. There's an old phrase which is key as we obey God wholeheartedly, "if He said it, I believe it and that settles it."
