Watch my back
Joel 2:7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
In all the full armoury of the Roman soldier, he has some one part the Bible doesn't mention as covered. And that's the back. But why wasn't it? Is it intentional? I think in some sense it is because Roman soldiers walked in their ranks, side by side. You were sure one was on your left, right, front and the back. And they knew exactly who was there. They never broke ranks. Those who surrounded them actually were known to each other and in case there was an attack from the back, someone was there to protect it.
This is the perfect picture of a church that is the army of the Lord walking in their ranks, fighting side by side, protecting each other while doing so and not stabbing each other! This is hard in the natural but God is raising a generation that's so respectful of ranks.
Child of God you need to know those who are for you in all things. Not everyone will but at least some will and you also have to know those for whom you should be there for. That's how it works. You are serving someone as you are being served. You are praying for someone as someone is praying for you. You are lifting others as others are lifting you. That's the secret to overcome the enemy at all fronts.
But at times we see church folks even though they are of different denominations attacking other denominations who have the same Bible as them! It's worse when it is in the same denomination or if it's in one local body. There are things that I have to accept that are beyond me. There are fights I see in the media and I don't know the full details, because the devil controls it anyway, and you see one man tearing up the other man of God and you wonder why they do so. They may have their reasons anyway. But one thing I have learnt from Kenneth Hagin was that I should never contribute to the downfall of another believer by talking ill about them in their absence to others. But you meet a believer who bluntly tells you so and so is a so and so. Sorry you can fill in the blanks. And I wonder, who are you to say that and why are you saying that? Why are you doing the devil's work of accusing the brethren? Are you saying so because you want me to like you more or you want to take their place or rather want what they have? Why don't you celebrate them, pray for them or even contribute to their lifting?
One preacher said we are one body fighting the same enemy, better fight him in that direction, let me fight him in this direction and together we shall put him down.
