Challenge others

1 Chronicles 29:3-7 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, [which] I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, [Even] three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses [withal]: The gold for [things] of gold, and the silver for [things] of silver, and for all manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who [then] is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD? Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly, And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.

I love the first initiative and challenge that David posed to the rest of the leaders and Israelites when he gave first and gave more. Now you don't need to be a leader to do this but you can always pull others to do something if you do it first and set the bar high enough.

The "do it as I say and not as I do" won't work rather "do it as I do." People enjoy it when their leaders are fully soaked into the vision they cast. They enjoy seeing to them in action and they follow suit from behind. That's how legacy's are formed because someone started a movement and others plunged into it.

Leaders, we are under watch. Every act whatever little it can be may spark something in the lives of others. Any leader willing to do this kind of thing is a father. By definition a father is an initiator. If you desire to be used of God mightily, have fatherly instincts. Start things to propel others to move in that direction. Be an exemplary giver. Above all give in a way that challenges the rest.
