It's your time to shine
Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Child of God this scripture is an encouragement to you and me that in case things are going bad in the world we are in, for us we shall shine and do well. But what does that imply, we should do what we are supposed to do when we have the opportunity to.
The recent COVID pandemic period testifies to the fact that many churches and organisations crumbled while others thrived. It was the dark hour but a shining one to others. The same was true in the economic credit crunch of 2008. I am not a prophet of doom but I know that even Jesus told us to expect tough times in these last days. More severe occurrences will come ahead. How prepared are we for the tough times ahead? We should sow so that reap a good harvest that will sustain us in bad times.
It's in tough times that you realize who built on the right foundation and who didn't. Everyone seems to be busy trying building their lives but by what principles are they building it on? Jesus or man's thinking? You see man's thinking may be pleasing and logical but it's not right according to God. God's ways may not be appealing to the flesh but it's right. When man says it's foolish to give tithes, how are you gaining by giving? God says when you tithe He opens the windows of heaven to pour out a blessing to you that you cannot contain.
I have learnt through Apostle Moses Mukisa that there are two economies we Christians belong to. The world economic system and the kingdom economic system. And the world's system is about buying and selling while that of the kingdom is about sowing and reaping. If we are to continue living in this world we need to have some money to buy the necessities of life and we need to have a product or service to sell so that we get money. Business men sell merchandise, teachers sell knowledge, doctors give treatment and earn a living. So you have to be good at selling and have enough money to get assets that produce cash flow.
But in the kingdom sowing and reaping is a must if you or your ministry is to succeed. God touches men's hearts so that they bless you with their money and resources to meet your needs and the ministry needs. This means if you can fulfill God's vision by your money alone then it ceases to be God's vision but your personal vision.
