Liberal souls are made fat

Proverbs 11:24-25 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and [there is] that withholdeth more than is meet, but [it tendeth] to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

The Bible gives us a vivid picture of how givers are prospered. It has alluded to the fact that withholding more than it's meet tends to poverty while being generous or liberal leads to prosperity. If every Christian knew this principle, no one would beg them to give rather they would look out for opportunities to give.

To withhold more than it's meet means to give less than your ability to give. It's saying you don't have yet you have what it takes to give.

One should not be embarrassed to give much whenever God blesses them. It's a testimony that one has been faithful in the principles such as giving. One man said that if your prosperity doesn't embarrass you, then God isn't your true source. What that means is that God prospers you so much that you even lack a way of saying that maybe it was because of your hard work or wisdom.

Giving a few coins yet you can give much more than that is withholding more than it's meet. Yet there's one that gives a few coins when it's all they have left then they are being liberal. Remember the woman who gave two mites, she was more generous than the rich men who gave less than their ability to according to Jesus.

God is not mocked. He sees the percentages of what you give in relation to what is left back. It's time then that you should gauge yourself. Is my giving too little that I am withholding more than it's meet or am I being so generous? How much of any income I get am I giving to God? Is my giving a testimony to God that I am depending on Him for supply for the future or I am not giving at all or giving less because I fear what tomorrow will bring? It's on this note that people shouldn't criticize men of God for prospering. All they see is the prosperity but they don't know the amount of seed they have sown into the ground to reap such a harvest. As long as you have your seed into the ground, rest assured that you won't lack all the days of your life. Your seed is a direct attack against lack. You cannot afford to stop watering others. Some say I sowed last year and it didn't work so I gave up. The secret is to keep doing it over and over.

The more you give, the more room you create to receive. The less you give, it's like saying I have enough already so I don't need anything anymore. It's like a clenched fist vs an open palm. If you clench your fist, you can't hold onto anything new but only that which you have. An open palm on the other hand is ready at all times to receive.

Let your hands be open to give and receive at the same time. Let your heart too be open to let go at anytime something that God says you should let go and also be ready at all times to receive from Him.
