More than enough
Exodus 36:4-7 And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made; And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
The Israelites in the old testament did what every pastor desires his church members to do. They gave more than was enough for the work to be accomplished. What a blessing! Why were they able to do so? Because the Lord touched their hearts to give.
Secondly their minds were more focused on spiritual things, the things from above, God's affairs and not the things of the earth, wealth, riches or carnal desires and lusts. Can we relate a church thinking spiritually and their much giving, yes. The more carnal the church is, the more they want to be begged to give. On top of that they want to be praised for their giving. On the contrary a spiritual church or believers whose focus is heavenly things, they don't wait to be begged, neither do they seek glory from their giving, they are swift in giving and are still hungry to give more and more! I have experienced all these kinds of people in the church and I prefer to work with spiritual than carnal ones.
May you be that believer who gives more than enough, does more than enough and goes farther than commanded towards advancing the kingdom of God because your focus is on heavenly things.
AMEN 🙌 Glory to God.
