Sow widely

Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. If the clouds be full of rain, they empty [themselves] upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. As thou knowest not what [is] the way of the spirit, [nor] how the bones [do grow] in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both [shall be] alike good.

This potion of scripture is used a lot in teaching about investment. Many have suggested that you better have at least 7 income streams so that your needs don't become so much of a bother to you.

All in all it rotates around sowing seeds. Societies then we're so much agrarian and the examples of sowing then made a lot of sense because they were the usual things they did. In our context of giving, you need to not only be cheerful in giving, but you also need to be enthusiastic about it, constant in it till the end and also sow as many seeds as you can.

Sometimes the seeds you sow won't come as money given back to you but they definitely come back to you as a good harvest inform of good health, a good family, peace, joy, etc things which money cannot buy. If it comes in form of money it will definitely come in plenty back to you in one way or the other.

Every act of faith and obedience to God has to bring results in a multiplied form. Likewise every act of disobedience has to bring back results too multiplied to you in a negative way. Ensure you keep sowing good seeds in form of money and good deeds too.

We have become a money conscious society whereby people want to be paid for everything they do even at church! Instrumentalists, artists, preachers, cleaners etc many nowadays want their time translated into money. Nobody wants to use of their resources to do ministry. Now I don't know if they understand that a seed planted always comes back to you. If the church can't meet your needs, or give you money for the service you have rendered, God will. He will either use the very people you have ministered to or some others in the kingdom to give back to you in one-way or the other.

I wonder whether everything you have received or will ever receive in the future has or will come by you paying it? There's an idea or solution you will get from a friend or stranger which will take your earnings or life to the next level but you will block it from coming if you don't sow good and many seeds. Sometimes we are not keen to take note of such things because we are too busy complaining how we don't have this or don't have the other because of lust. But it's time we counted our blessings. Nowadays I take note of everything I get for free, quantify it's monetary value and I know it's God paying back some seeds I sowed in the past.

From now on everything you do for the Lord you see it as seeds sown whether you are appreciated or not, God will for He is your source and rewarder anyway. Just keep sowing and sow widely!
