Giving and the presence
1 Kings 8:4-5 Then they brought up the ark of the LORD, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that [were] in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up. Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, [were] with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.
1 Kings 8:10-11 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy [place,] that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.
There's something noteworthy about this account and the ones before it. At the start of Solomon's reign he offered 1000 burnt offerings, 1 Kings 3:4. After God appeared to him, he offered again, 1 Kings 3:15. After the construction of the temple, Solomon offered what couldn't be numbered and the presence of God came down into the holy place in that the priests could not even minister.
Do you see the pattern here? Giving and the presence go hand in hand. For any serious minister out there, you have to be a serial giver otherwise there's something which will be lacking in your ministry. Any serious business person too, employee, student, you ought to be a giver. This will make you attract customers, deals, opportunities you cannot contain.
Solomon offered to God after achieving a great milestone for the Lord. Your greatest temptations will come at your greatest victories and defeats. How then can you guard your heart from pride which leads to downfall because many fall for such? By giving and giving big.
At the beginning of your ministry, after a great accomplishment, give. This will keep you humble, focused on God and invite the presence of God in your life at all times.
Amen and AMEN 🙏💖
