God's Gems

Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?

This scripture was got from the parable of the unjust steward. This was a manager of a rich man's goods. When he was called upon to give account of his stewardship, he called upon the debtors of the master and cut the debts they owed to the master so that he could be welcomed by them in their homes when he's fired by his master.

Instead of being angry at him, the master commended him for having used money to make friends who would be of help to him later. It's very probable that this rich man had a lot of money because on a normal occasion no one would praise a thief if their livelihood depended on those goods in the steward's care.

Who is the master in this case? God. Who is the steward, us. God has entrusted to us his gems like money, talents, gifts, etc and we need to utilize them for the sake of winning souls. If we don't then our heavenly bank account will be lacking. When we die and go to heaven, we won't have people, his true riches or gems to welcome us into their mansions which he promised us when he was about to go to heaven.

In another scripture he encourages us to store up our treasures where no moth, rust or thief can steal, and that's heaven. That's where your true riches are. But even before reaching heaven, God entrusts you with more people to influence with the gospel if we are faithful in our money handling. So before you ask God for true riches like a big ministry, a mega church, big business which involve many people, how are you handling the lesser riches, money? Is it all going to your personal use or you are investing in other ministries reaching out to the lost?

God doesn't need money to survive. But we do need it here in earth to conduct earthly transactions. There are so many ministries you can bless with your money. The souls won by them will be counted and on your account. Therefore invest your money wisely in the winning of souls.
