Money is amoral

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Money is the most talked about topic in the world because the world revolves around it. It's crucial though to know the place it holds and how to handle it.

Most secular writers condemn scriptures like the one as our theme scripture in a way hinder christians from having the right view about money. Others are like You cannot serve two masters etc. But making such assertions reveal that we need to teach more on money and how they need to handle it without destroying them. I therefore believe that if a Christian holds a right beliefs about money, they will be a real threat to the devil and advance the kingdom of God much better.

Is Money therefore bad as some assert? Does it hinder our spiritual walk? Can we have a right perspective about having it and using it? The answers to these are all in the Bible.

First we need to know that whatever we own belongs to God and we are stewards of it. This revelation is so profound and sets the stage for all we do. God expects us to be faithful to it, multiply it, work it, apply wisdom in using it etc.

Money in itself is not evil but evil and good men can use it for either evil or good. Who are evil and who are good men? The Bible says whoever in Christ is a new creation old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. In Christ we are made righteous as Christ Himself and are thus good in His sight. Whoever therefore is not in Christ is of the devil and is evil.

Good people will always use it to advance the cause of the gospel, evil ones for their personal advancement. We can then conclusively say that money is amoral, it's the result of it's use that is either moral or immoral.
