The vanity of empty pursuits
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Does life consist in the abundance of things? No Should one chase after possessions yet end up destroying their own lives both naturally and spiritually? No. But some don't care until they get to hurt their own lives.
I have a friend who's parent focused on chasing after the money and ensuring that they become more secure. As that happened they didn't mind their health in the process. Right now in the advanced years of the parent, terrible health complications due to overworking are now taking away the money the parent painfully worked for. Now that's both a loss to time they would give to the jobs and to service to God. There's a reason for rest. Rest helps you recoup, regain energy, think sharper etc. Working many jobs looks financially okay until you break down mentally and physically. It is self care to rest your body after a long day of work. Now that's the case of the natural.
Spiritually speaking however much you can pray while you work, meditate while you work, listen to an audio bible or sermon as you work, you need those times when it's the only thing you are doing to get the most out of it in order to improve our spiritual lives. Quality time and quantity time for God is a must if you are to better your spiritual life. I have heard the phrase, if God wants something done, He looks for a busy person. That's true but if the busy person doesn't give quality and quantity time, their spiritual growth and ministration will be hindered.
Depending on your schedule, your quality time may be an uninterrupted 30, 45, or 1 hour etc. While your quantity time may mean an overnight with you and God, a retreat of three days every month or trimester etc. There was a God's general who lived in the early 20th century. He had a busy schedule but gave God only 45 minutes every money of uninterrupted time to pray and meditate. This man would go preach in the evenings and sometimes would end late in the night and the miracles in his meetings were so numerous. Amidst his busy schedules he had uninterrupted time for God without giving excuses how tired he might be. God was faithful to that man, he made so much money from his businesses at that time which supported him when he ventured into full-time ministry.
Don't think you cannot be so busy and so intense in seeking God. You very much can. In fact your private victory empowers you for public victory. If the business is very successful, there are high chances you will get energised to serve God deeper. If your marriage is on the rocks (private loss), your public ministry will be affected unless you are so mature not to allow it to.
Your other pursuits should not affect your spiritual life rather they should compliment it. If you chase money and wealth as your only goal, you will lose your life, physically and spiritually. If you chase God, you get your life back including the money and wealth.
If God wants something done, He looks for a more busy person. This one has worked for me, it is a blessing.

Quality time and quantity time are both needed to better spiritual lives
