Forever with or without Jesus

Luke 23:42-43 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom." And Jesus replied, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise."

Jesus told one of the men who were crucified with Him that today he will be with Him in paradise. Paradise is another term for heaven. But it's not the final destination of the believers.

Whenever we reach out to the lost, one of the things we tell them is get saved so that you may go to heaven after you die. Do you know that the heaven we usually refer to is not the eternal place where they will be?

There's another eternal place which will out live the current heaven. It's the new Earth which will be joined with the new heaven at the end of the age. So in fact heaven currently is not the aim of the why we preach however much it brings some hope. What then should we look forward to? To live forever with the Lord.

The current heaven is also temporary, the eternal and permanent heaven is one which will descend from above to the new Earth. Those who die now in Christ ascend to heaven and will descend again to the new earth which will be united with the final heaven at the resurrection, hallelujah.

Hell also is temporary for those who die without faith in Christ. The final eternal place those who die without Faith is the lake of fire. Hell is pretty bad, but the worst place will actually be the lake of fire.

Men choose where they want to be at the end of the age. If they want to be with Jesus eternally, they ought to get saved. If they want to be without Him eternally, then they reject salvation. God will then will enforce their choice by sending them where they decided to be even before they died.

For that reason we need to tell as many as we can so that they consciously choose between eternal life and eternal death while they are still alive.
