There's more to life besides work
1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. If all we are up to is to work, work and work but we don't get to enjoy that which God has given us to enjoy, then we risk breaking down at one point.
Some fail to enjoy their possessions because they feel guilty to do so. They feel like they should be living on the edge all the time, working themselves off all year and throughout most of their day!
You need to take sabbaticals to rest from a day's work, enjoy being with family, take a walk, etc without the tension of ever running up and about. There's a term called the work - life balance. This means that it's not only work that should occupy our time. Other things matter and should not be neglected. Now on exceptional cases, one needs to carry work home but that shouldn't be the norm. You find people work for over 14 hours which is not healthy.
I used to struggle with this but it's until this year that I started to respect time for other activities which should occupy my day. Every one has 24 hours on a daily basis. If you plan your day in 8 hour blocks, you will be free from being a slave to only one area but strive to attain a balance in other areas. 8 hours for sleep, 8 for work, 4 hours to engage, 4 hours to disengage. Through this you Will have time to pray, play, rest, read the Word, preach, socialize etc.
Don't spend all your time making money in your youth and end up spending most of it on hospital bills. You also don't want to experience burnout or even mental breakdowns in the process!
