The harvest is big

Matthew 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

One man said that the sinners market is so big. This is true and should keep us very busy. A lot of idleness, backbiting, competing for who should be the lead in the body of Christ is solved by getting busy in soul winning. Instead of lamenting how empty the church is, and trying to break someone else's church, we ought to be winning souls. We need to be proactive and not reactive. No one is damned to go to hell unless it's their own choice to reject the salvation which only God can give. So we need to reach out to them.

In one pastor's mentorship I was part of, our mentor asked us to get the maps where our churches are located. He asked us if we knew the population of the village and compare it with the membership in our church. When we did, the difference was big.

I challenge you to think in those terms. How impactful are we in the areas, regions or countries where our churches, missional families, fellowships are located in terms of numbers? Knowing that will keep us on the move. Otherwise we may deceive ourselves that we are so impactful yet when we look at the entire picture, we aren't yet there.

On an individual level, how many members are in church or missional family because of your influence or preaching? How many souls are you discipling on a weekly basis? It's very easy to hide within a big church and think we are taking on the city but your individual curve of impact is really wanting. That's why I love the challenge of beginning a ministry, a church , a fellowship or Missional family. You really get to know where your level of spiritual maturity is at. If you think you know how to pray, preach, fast, show us the numbers to validate your spirituality. You will be humbled. Some people are just puffed up but have nothing to show for it if they sat down to make a deep evaluation.

God is a God who minds about numbers that is why the gospel writers recorded the 5000 and 4000 men Jesus fed. We even have a whole book of numbers! Mind about the numbers.
