Be an example

Acts 20:32-35 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

There are examples of almost every facet of life in the Bible.  That's why it's a great book. Speaking of people who served God mightily as well as doing secular work,  Paul was one of them. A tent maker during the week and a preacher over the weekend during synagogue meetings.

Being a tent maker did not lessen his anointing.  He was able to demonstrate to idle believers that even believers could work and support themselves without being a burden to anyone.  We have seen so many people who are anointed, but when it comes to other things they do on the side,  they are not examples to follow.  Paul wasn't one of them. I presuppose that he was one of the best in the business.

Daniel, too, was one who served in three regimes of three kings in his time as a top person in governance at the time. That did not affect his daily communion or his prophetic ministry of visions and dreams.

There's a saying I have heard being said, work or study as one who doesn't know how to pray, and when it comes to prayer, pray as if it's the only thing you know. The Bible discourages laziness and being a busy body. So, being spiritual doesn't mean one shouldn't work hard to make a living. If it's time for you to do both ministry and secular employment,  do so. If the Lord calls you into full-time, so be it. There are seasons for every minister. Know the season you are supposed to be in at the moment.

Further scriptures

Daniel 2:46-49 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him. The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth [it is], that your God [is] a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret. Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise [men] of Babylon. Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel [sat] in the gate of the king.

Daniel 5:29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and [put] a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Daniel 6:1-3 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel [was] first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
