Obedience and Sacrifice
Isaiah 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
Obedience means to hear an instruction with the intention to do. It also means to do what has been instructed. Sacrifice is to give up something of value for the sake of another.
You can have all the knowledge, but if one is not willing to obey and sacrifice, knowledge will not be of any help. Heroes are not made in the comfort of things. They do lay down their lives for a good cause that no one else is willing to do. It also describes a thing which has been offered as a sacrifice.
Christ is calling each of us to live sacrificial lives and also offer ourselves as living sacrifices. He told us to carry our crosses daily, which symbolises the greatest display of obedience, sacrifice and victory. Christ didn't only live sacrificially, but He became the sacrifice.
Christianity is void of power without the vital aspects of obedience and sacrifice.
