Reach out to your world
Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
It is said that you can not minister to someone properly if you haven't been in their situation before. A common background with someone makes such a person of your world and kind. In someway you have a similar world view.
For instance, if you have ever been in school and know how school works, you can easily minister to those who are in school at the moment. The person who hasn't been there may fail to find common ground with them because they have no examples to illustrate his points while preaching, examples which are school based. But to some extent, they can use examples they have heard other people talk about.
Are you a parent? Fellow parents need the gospel, and you can easily challenge them to make a commitment to receive salvation as well as overcome excuses to serve God when they see you doing it.
When the Lord sent us into all the world, your world may be your age mates, your colleagues, your fellow businessmen and women, your fellow farmers, your fellow rich neighbours, etc. They will feel safe if they talk to someone who understands their language.
Moses was sent back to Egypt to convince Pharoah to release the children of Israel because he grew up under the care of Pharaoh himself! He could easily challenge him in those lines. Many doors opened for Paul to minister to Kings, the learned philosophers because he too was highly educated. Peter, on the other hand, was not as highly educated as Paul, but God still used him to reach the lost of his kind.
God will use you to the degree that you are useable. Don't waste your past. Even when it is so bad, it will turn out to be a testimony.
I remember seeing someone either on TV or social media reaching out to gang men, drug addicts, and street kids because he was a former street kid, and he has results. Maybe you had a divorce, a heart break, a miscarriage, an early pregnancy while in school, or you were raped, thrown out of your parents home, your fellow tribemates, country men etc, there are many who are like you that God has prepared for you to preach to them. Therefore, don't despair. You have a message for them that can transform them.
