The means to the end
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
When Jesus met his first disciples, the first thing he told them is that they should follow Him and He will make them fishers of men. Since their trade was fishing, they could easily relate to what they were saying.
God met Moses in the burning bush, and Moses was tending to the sheep of his father in law Jethro. That's when He called him to go and rescue his people in Egypt.
Elijah met Elisha, ploughing oxen, and cast a mantle on him. Apart from some whom God called in a dream like Solomon, these ones God met them in their everyday activities. It means that if they took those encounters lightly, they would have missed God.
If you are sensitive enough, you will realise that in fact all things are working together for the good. Many good and negative things are all working for your good. For instance, God has enabled many to get an education, knowledge, and skills to do whatever they are doing to earn a living, but that is not the end. It's the means to the end. When God calls to serve Him full-time in winning souls, be ready to answer that call.
Every Christian ought to discern the right time to drop everything they are doing to follow the call of God on their life fully, which will actually lead many people to the Lord.
