God is Holy
Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of his glory.
God is holy. He has no trace of sin in Him. He is completely sinless, righteous, and perfect. He is not tempted by sin, and neither can He tempt anyone. If He can be tempted and falls into sin, then He ceases to be God. He now becomes subject to the one who tempted Him.
That is where Adam and Eve lost it. They were already in dominion over the earth, but when they fell into sin, the devil became god over them because they literally yielded to his commands. The one you obey is your master. The hand that feeds you becomes your master.
When we yield ourselves entirely to the Lord, He becomes our master and Lord. When we do the contrary, we give the enemy leeway to do more harm to us. Submit, therefore, to God and be holy, just as He is holy.
