Trust God
Proverbs 3:5-10 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Man for some reason is attached to their money perhaps because it takes effort to make it. It becomes a treasure by default to him or her. Secondly man has placed a certain value for money unlike other things. Society collectively places value in certain things and on other things it does not. As for money, everyone respects that paper because through it you can exchange it for something you need. The other things people value are one's own children. It's possible to have many children whom you take care of but in one way or another the fact that they are not your biological children, they don't cause you to worry so much like when your child is among them.
Why am I saying all this? We need to examine our levels of trusting God and giving to Him some potion of the very things we love and value, money. Many believers like the term is believe God but trusting Him is somewhat hard with a tithe, giving, offerings, firstfruits etc. Some after earning find it hard to give to God because they feel even the one they have is not enough, so giving a part of it does not make sense at all to them. But if they trust God to give back to them more than they have given to Him, giving cannot be a problem. Inside them they restrain because they fear that God won't come through for them when they give to Him.
How are your levels of trust to God. It's the beginning point of all good stewardship with money.
