Blessings

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

The story behind this scripture was when Esau despised his birthright for lentils.  The birthright meant he would inherit a double potion from his father Isaac.

Many believers are indifferent to the blessings that God gives but that should not be so with you. It is God's will for you to be blessed for blessings accompany our salvation. The blessing of Abraham rests on all children of faith in Christ. We need to appropriate it in our life by speaking, living and acting in line with the Word. The blessing includes cattle, silver, gold etc.

Our fathers in the faith were walking in the blessings. Since you are of the same faith as them, if you believe in the power of the blessing, it will too manifest in your life.

Further scriptures

Genesis 25:29-34 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he [was] faint: And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red [pottage]; for I [am] faint: therefore was his name called Edom. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Esau said, Behold, I [am] at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised [his] birthright.

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
