Friends of God

Exodus 33:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

In the old testament God related to some people as His friends. This is quiet different from heathen gods which neither spoke or were moved by people's issues and yet enacted punishment for disobedience. This could be the way some believers relate with God today.

The Bible says that God could not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah unless He first shared that fact with Abraham. Moses too received communication from God as a man would talk to their friend. Adam communed with God every evening! If you pause to think about it, how would such an intimacy affect you? Your faith, confidence, security and boasting would rise to the roof!

Men in the natural love to boast being friends with other great men of this world. How much more if we are friends with the highest of the highest, and with the greatest of the greatest? It will be so amazing. Why then do some Christians have low self esteem, doubt, little faith, etc? Could it be that they haven't worked on closely relating with God intimately? That could not be farther from the truth.

Child of God, God is so good in that He sent His Son Jesus who has made it possible to be friends of God. Maybe you have been seeing yourself only as a servant or a slave. Start seeing yourself as His friend and that will cause great change in your walk with Him, hallelujah!
