God of Covenants I

Deuteronomy 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

Our God is a God of covenants and He keeps His covenants. Covenant for lack of a better word is like a contract. It is how God deals with His people. When we understand that God keeps His covenants, as children we will rest in the covenant we live in and that is the New Covenant.

In the Bible there are about 7 covenants that God made with His people but there are two major covenants of how God has dealt with His people throughout human history and that is the old and new covenant. 

To clearly understand the truth about old and covenants, it is important to note that man’s ways are ways of merit for example when you are going to get a job, you go through an interview and you have to impress your interviewers to get it. Also in school, for you to get promoted to a new class, you have to pass exams very well. Parents also promise gifts to their children as a reward for good performance at school! All that is a merit kind of system.

On the other hand, God’s ways are ways of grace in the new covenant He gave us.Thanks be to God for He deals with us based on His amazing grace!

A year of good things

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Years represent new seasons. Every season God has a specific word for us His children that we need to run with. When we run the year based on that Word, our results will be evident. In this season as the Streams of life and Nations churches God gave us a word through our Father Bishop Gerald Mwebe that we are going to have good things.  Last year 2025, was a year of great grace. This year God prophetically is giving us good things. One of the good things He has already given us is the gospel. The gospel is the message we preach and live by. We need to realise as believers that we have a message which will touch lives not only in this world but for eternity. The gospel is not only for non believers but for nonbelievers also. Jesus, the reason for the season

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus is the reason for the season we are in. He is the gift of God unto men. Who on earth does not like gifts and who on earth can reject the Gift of all gifts, moreover given by God Himself?
