Women ministry II

John 19:25-27 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the [wife] of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own [home].

Jesus in His three years of ministry was always followed by multitudes. Within the multitudes were His disciples, His core group that followed Him everywhere. But at the cross, at His greatest point of need, everyone had deserted Him except three women; His mother, Mary the wife of Cleophas and Mary Magdalene.

In any man's greatest hour of need, be sure that there will always be a godly woman. These wonderful men, God bless their hearts, if at any one time the rubber meets the road, they will find the quickest exit. Most times it is the women who are sure to stay. One thing am sure of, if any danger happens to me or the church I lead, am so sure most women in the church will stay put. Everyone had deserted Jesus, but the women stayed there.

In the midst of pain, Jesus found time to talk to her mother, 'Woman, behold your son, and to John behold your mother.' John is a representation of a believer who turns to Mary as his mother. What a powerful godly relationship that starts at the cross! The Bible says from that hour, John took Mary to his home. In every believer's life, there are some son-mother relationships that started from the day they got saved and it's time the believer sought to establish them.

Child of God, who are the mothers God has placed in your life? To the godly women, who are the sons God has placed in your life? These are powerful discipling relationships that will yield tremendous spiritual growth once identified and nurtured. Like I asked, its time you wrote these people down and walk closely with them.
