Giving rules VI
2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."
Have you ever been in a meeting only to agree to disagree on a matter you don’t fully buy into? You fully know that if what within your power, you would do otherwise. That is how some behave when they give.
The reason why many don't realise the fruit of their giving is as they give, their hearts and actions are not one. God cannot be faked. He sees beyond actions. It is in humans to do jobs they don't like, marry people they dont love or do things they hate just to survive etc. They "just" accept to do things, nowonder they do the bare minimum. And sad enough they carry such mentality into the things of God. All you hear from them later is that they have done all but have no results.
You ought to be of a willing heart as you give to the causes of God. If you are reluctant to give, then better not to waste your hard earned resources. A reluctant giver is compared to a child who is unwilling to go to school in the morning. They have no clue in their minds that education will benefit them in future yet at the moment they hesitate to go!
In the same vein many bear grudges as they give. By this they have ill will in their giving. Complaining and murmuring all the time as they let go of the money they are stewarding over! Some put on a sorrow or sad look in the process of giving. Please note that reluctant givers do give always but in a reluctant manner.
Don't be immature in your thinking when it comes to your giving. Think maturely and give with a willing mind and not reluctantly. Do not "just" give in order to put a tick on your to do list. Do it wholeheartedly.
