Giving rules VIII

1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first [day] of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

Rule Eight; Give regularly. Every week giving.
Annual giving e.g cheerful giving. If you ever give once in while, you should turn into a regular and a consistent giver.

Regular can be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or annual depending on the purpose and the rhythm of the giving. Weekly for example can work best for daily earners who at the end of the week should take a tithe of their earnings to their local church, biweekly in case you earn your wages every two weeks, monthly could be for salary workers who earn their salaries at the end of the month, while annually can work for those doing fundraising events which are calendared every year. In all these a discipline of consistent putting aside of a potion which is the Lord's is required so that it is not touched.

The mindset of givers should be that "God owns 100% of my money, am simply a steward of it." He requires a tenth of it to be returned to Him as well as be a part of other forms of giving like seed, love offering, alms giving etc.

Once you put a regular rhythm around your giving, you won't miss out on giving. But if you give only when your emotions are touched, you won't be regular and you will definitely miss out on giving.
