Giving rules XI

Leviticus 19:9-10 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather [every] grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I [am] the LORD your God.

Giving rule 11: Give to charity as an obligation. In Judaism, charity is not just a generous act, but a matter of righteousness and fairness. To them charity giving is the right or fair thing to do.

Giving rule 12: Do not give out of necessity or compulsion. Such giving is as a result of some external pressure or force applied or something one cannot afford not to do. 

Guving rule 13: Maintain the dignity of the one you give to.  It is a sin to embarrass or shame someone when offering help.

Giving rule 14: Have a portion for the poor of all you earn. Do not eat up all your earnings without leaving a potion for the poor.

A year of good things

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Years represent new seasons. Every season God has a specific word for us His children that we need to run with. When we run the year based on that Word, our results will be evident. In this season as the Streams of life and Nations churches God gave us a word through our Father Bishop Gerald Mwebe that we are going to have good things.  Last year 2025, was a year of great grace. This year God prophetically is giving us good things. One of the good things He has already given us is the gospel. The gospel is the message we preach and live by. We need to realise as believers that we have a message which will touch lives not only in this world but for eternity. The gospel is not only for non believers but for nonbelievers also. Many believers all they hear are the curses that follow them from the past generations....

God first

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. God deserves our worship, love and time. Our lives need to be rotated around Him in all that we do.  The Bible says we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things shall follow. That scripture is contrary to popular thinking nowadays which advocates that people are masters of their destinies. Only the humble can try to live by it. That scripture does not say we should do other things and then seek God about them. On the other hand we should first go to Him for direction and then other things should follow.  That is why Sunday according to our numbering of days is called the first day and it is on such a day that we go worship God in the church.
