Types of Givers II

2 Samuel 24:24 And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy [it] of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

Last week we stopped at giver type six.

Giver type seven: Limelight givers: They give primarily to look good to leadership. They seek the praise of others. They can also be referred to public relations givers. The Pharisees were known for this. They would give alms in full view of everyone so that they receive praise of men which is the reward they could get and not God's reward.

Giver type Eight. Regular Givers: They give on a regular, planned basis. They support the church vision faithfully. They automate their giving so that they don't miss out on giving. They can also be called consistent givers.

Giver type Nine; Separated givers: They give beyond their normal capacity. They prioritize God's work over personal comfort. Macedonia church, 2 Cor 8: 1-5. They can also be referred to as consecrated givers.

Giver type Ten; Sacrificial Givers; David, 2 Sam 24:24. David refused to give something which cost him nothing.

Giver type 11; Church tithers. These are those who only limit their giving to the tithe and nothing else. 

Giver type 12: Above the tithe or 10% givers. Some givers give not only tithe but also give offerings like seed, building offering, etc. Some of these give a tithe of 20, 30 or even up to 90% of their giving and live on the 10%. Their earnings are so great or they have stretched themselves to the level of depending on God to supply their needs after giving most or even 100% of all their money away!

Giver type 13: Not only to the local church tithers, 2 cor 9:8. Some people because of movements here and there find themselves feeding from many churches. So they decide to split their tithe between their mother church and the church where they happen to be in that Sunday or the man of God feeding their spirits online at the time. Others tithe to parachurch organisations which are ministering to their spiritual needs and meet a particular need to the body of christ that the church is not meeting. Some parachurch organisations do discipleship to youth, wives, women, orphans and they find it fit to tithe there.

Giver type 14: Heartfelt givers e.g good samaritan in Luke 10:25-37. They are also called compassionate givers.

Giver type 15. Willing givers, Abraham, Gene 22:1-19. When Abraham was told to sacrifice his only son, he didn't look back, he moved in obedience immediately.
