A year of good things

Image
Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Years represent new seasons. Every season God has a specific word for us His children that we need to run with. When we run the year based on that Word, our results will be evident. In this season as the Streams of life and Nations churches God gave us a word through our Father Bishop Gerald Mwebe that we are going to have good things.  Last year 2025, was a year of great grace. This year God prophetically is giving us good things. One of the good things He has already given us is the gospel. The gospel is the message we preach and live by. We need to realise as believers that we have a message which will touch lives not only in this world but for eternity. The gospel is not only for non believers but for nonbelievers also. Many believers all they hear are the curses that follow them from the past generations....

Abundance

1 Kings 17:8-15 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which [belongeth] to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman [was] there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch [it], he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, [As] the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I [am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go [and] do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring [it] unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the LORD...

Growth happens progressively

Proverbs 3:5-10 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Many use the above scriptures in asking God for direction in everyday affairs of life but do not realise that giving mentioned in that scripture has alot to do with trust. When one doesn't trust God, they won't give to Him. Like the parable Jesus gave, they would take God as a hard master who reaps where He hasn't sowed.   There's a widow woman in scripture who the Bible says gave all her living yet the rich gave only a portion from their abundance. The latter gave what couldn't reach them a place of believing Go...

Trust God

Image
Proverbs 3:5-10 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. How do you get to a point of trusting a friend? This cannot be a one-off but it comes through a consistent set of things you do together. One of those areas that binds relations are the areas of finances, giving and receiving from eachother.  Man for some reason is attached to their money perhaps because it takes effort to make it. It becomes a treasure by default to him or her. Secondly man has placed a certain value for money unlike other things. Society collectively places value in certain things and on other things it does n...

Thanksgiving III

Image
Luke 17:12-19 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up [their] voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw [them], he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on [his] face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where [are] the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Gratitude and thanksgiving qualifies us for favour. Remember the leper who came back to give thanks for the healing, he found favour from Jesus and was declared whole. The other lepers were merely healed but the thankful one was restored to health fu...

Thanksgiving II

Image
Psalms 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Many things that cause people despair is because they focus on themselves. When trouble hits, they look for the fault in themselves which worsens the situation.  Life can throw a number of things which are aimed at causing us to despair, become desperate, lose hope, bitter, murmur and complain. Being thankful enables us to stay focused, keep joyful and not lose our confidence because of such disappointments. A once happy vibrant, expectant believer can easily fall into depression and anger because that is the enemy's work to weaken us. But thanksgiving keeps us alive, hopeful and interested in the things of God everyday. Get attention off yourself and your problems and raise your voice in thanking God. Focus on who God is and thank Him for that. God has created the world we see and many things we cannot see. Thank God everyday for the beauty of creation because it was the best He gave ...

Thanksgiving I

Image
Psalms 119:164 Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments. The Psalmist has stated that seven times a day he praises the Lord. In a similar vein we should give thanks as habit and everybody has a reason to thank God.  Through thanksgiving we are able to push ahead. It is common for people to pray more than they do give thanks but that should be the opposite to us. With thanksgiving you can never go amiss. We will always live excellently and lead wherever God places us. Daniel prayed three times a day but he was never removed from places of influence. He served under three kings! Maybe you think thanksgiving is only to do with money. No it's not. Use your talent as a way of expressing thanks to God. Thank God with your lips everyday. The miracle of feeding the 5000 John was possible because Jesus first gave thanks.  Let thanksgiving be your daily attitude

Lessons from Joseph on Jesus' birth

Image
Matthew 1:18-20 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. Joseph is an unsung hero in the story of Jesus but my focus today is on him. He was betrothed to Mary who was found to be pregnant of the saviour of the world. Since at the time when one was betrothed (engaged) to a woman, if there was any incidence of one not being faithful to their commitment  by having sexual relations with someone else would mean death by stoning. On the outside it seemed as if Mary was unfaithful and needed to be stoned. ...

Jesus, the reason for the season

Image
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus is the reason for the season we are in. He is the gift of God unto men. Who on earth does not like gifts and who on earth can reject the Gift of all gifts, moreover given by God Himself? Jesus cannot be rejected because He is love, He is Grace, He is Life and Truth.  In case you doubt His claims you cannot argue with everything that happens in this season. It's evidence that His claims are true. All the jubilations around worldwide and around town are because He is the joy to the world, the decorations all over the place are because He is the Light of the world, the endless traffic jams, people arm twisting themselves in the bus parks fighting for a seat in the bus to head back to the villages, the commotion in the business centre as everyone wants to grab...

You need a push forward

Image
2 Chronicles 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. Establishment is different from prospering. Establishment is the nurturing one gets like the one the parents give a child. And that is what God does to us as we grow spiritually. Prospering on the other hand is the flourishing or pushing ahead one gets when they meet prophets or anointed people. Many Christians have the call of God from childhood, have known the scriptures through memorisation, have got to know about prayer, meditation, and every scriptural discipline you can ever think of, but they lack one thing, a push in a certain direction to be of great benefit to others in the ministry. They have seen the Lord through the scriptures, but they now need a living example before their...

Do not focus on the dirt, but the anointing

Genesis 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. While following to catch anointing on men of God,  you will get to discover their natural side which sometimes is not pleasant.  It can either offend you or inspire you to say that 'if God can use such a man, He can definitely use me also.' Know for certain that they are first of all men and then they are men of God. Men have weaknesses and its hard to think that your man of God has any. Yes they do but God uses them by the grace.  If you focus on the weakness, you will miss the precious anointing in them.  The media is good at magnifying the issues surrounding the men of God but don't do the same, focus on the anointing and let God deal with their issues.  Some things are too high for you to deal with them, leave them to God. Jacob wrestled with God to the point that his bone was pulled o...

Identify anointed people

2 Kings 2:8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped [it] together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. Anointed people who are really doing big things for God are not many. They are rare just like precious stones are rare to find. If you are hungry to serve God in a great way, you need to be on the lookout for other people that are serving God powerfully and begin to follow them.  Elijah separated the waters of Jordan by the anointing,  he stopped rain from falling by the anointing etc. Did he do all these by his power? No but by the anointing.  We are all in this world and are subject to like passions. The temptations that attack us are similar, the hardships notwithstanding are also present to all yet there are men who by grace rise above those limitations and do mighty things as though their world is different from the rest. Such men have something you need to tap into to propel your ministry forward...

Your ordinary unless you're anointed

1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. Recently I sat in a train and next to me was a group of about three ladies that were seated next to me. All I heard from them was outings, drinking, partying, men and how to get money from this man or that etc. I thought to myself which world am I in? I really felt strange and as though I was being corrupted while I was there, swallowed up in the book I was reading! Could i even concentrate anymore? I tried but in vain. Why was it strange to me? Because all I know on my agenda is prayer meetings, fellowships, evangelism etc. That's my life. I am God minded, they are self minded. But what causes such a difference was the anointing. I am sure if I had opened my mouth to talk to them about how weird their lifestyle is, they would call me mad. They would think am being too holy and righteous. By the way I overheard them say that they have some kind of religion they belong to. Why hasn't the religion been ...

Attach value to spiritual things

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. There's a law of degeneration at work in the world where natural things tend to lose value with time. What do I mean, as people grow older for example,  so does their natural strength reduces, their eye sight becomes dim and their ability to stay up for long reduces. Somehow even their power to remember the past reduces.  The assests we get to possess depreciate from the day you buy them. A car you have just bought,  once it gets out of the bond, if you happen to change your mind a few moments later and try to resell it to the very person that sold it to you, you will be shocked at the price they offer you.  On the other hand, once someone places a high value on spiritual things, they gain value overtime. For example once someone learns how to pray, they become better at it with time,  once they get to...

The men who bless us

The Bible says if you want to prosper, we ought to believe in God as well as believing the prophets. This means what it means, believing is very key in our relationship with the people who bless us with the Word of God everyday.  But there's a tendency to think that all of us are on level terms when it comes to serving the Lord which is not true.  We are all sons before God but we are graced differently.  Some people have gone ahead in many things and should be honoured for that.  Once you attack, insult or dishonour them you are dishonouring the one who sent them. The saying which says you can't receive anything which you despise actually comes to reality. They are ve...

The sin problem and the solution

Image
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. When man was created and placed in the garden of Eden, he was instructed not to eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.  Man instead rebelled and ate of it. At that point God began a move that would last for 4000 years to redeem man back to Himself by using prophets to prophesy about the coming messiah.   God did not destroy the devil who tempted man at the instance of sinning because to destroy him would mean destroying man in the process since the devil became inherent in man through sin. He devised a way and that was to become like the man He created to redeem him. He put on flesh though He was God in His spirit. Jesus came in flesh to destroy the works of the devil, die on our behalf on the cross for the very sin we committed and offer us a personal relationship with Himself, hallelujah. Without Jesus' coming, we would forever...

Jesus

Image
Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; In the past, God spoke through various ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us through His Son Jesus.  When one says God speaks to us people, what does it mean? It means God speaks through creation. He also speaks through our conscience. He speaks through the Word which was handed to us through dreams and visions God gave the prophets and men of God of old. He still uses dreams and visions to speak to us. Lastly, the Lord has spoken to us through Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate revelation of God to us. God Himself came to reveal Himself to us, hallelujah. If the world misses creation, it cannot neglect the voice of conscience, the directness of the Word, visions and dreams, or Jesus Himself!

The Word

Image
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret [things belong] unto the LORD our God: but those [things which are] revealed [belong] unto us and to our children for ever, that [we] may do all the words of this law. God's word is His special revelation to us about Himself, his redemptive plan, and salvation through Jesus. Creation itself indirectly communicates to us about God's existence but will not tell you that Jesus came to die for our sins. We get to know that through God's word. Through God's word, you can actually know who He is, what purpose He carries for this world, and what He desires for you to know. This word was handed to us through the prophets who received it directly from the Lord by dreams and visions.  Anything you need to know for you to believe about God is in His word. It's sufficient for us to believe that He exists and has good plans for us. Any attempt to go above it may land one into err. For that reason, you need to study God's word yourself. If you w...

The conscience

Image
Acts 23:1  And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men  and  brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day God reveals Himself through nature. When you look at it, you do not look at God, but you get to know something about God. Something about His power, deity, and wisdom. It is not entirely enough for man to get saved through such general knowledge of God, but at least it makes Him accountable for His actions.  Man has an inner witness in him that also testifies about God. And that is his conscience. The conscience is that part of you that helps you differentiate what is right or wrong in any situation you may find yourself in. It is that which points you towards the right direction, which is always in obedience with God's law.  Everyone alive has a conscience. That is why there are universal laws that govern people and are acceptable everywhere. A slap, a punch in my face, is not acceptable in my country. But even whe...

Creation reveals God

Image
Psa 19:1- 4  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Revelation comes from the word reveal. Revelation is to reveal something that is not ordinarily visible. God is not visible to us, but He has not chosen to remain invisible. He has revealed Himself in a general way by means of creation.  How did the mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, the ground we step on, the trees, the grass, the insects, and animals come into existence? Someone intelligent created them all. They did not evolve or appear out of some random existence; God made them. Everyone on earth at some point has had the conviction that God made everything. They only corrupt it ...

A personal God

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. God is not some abstract concept out there. Anything abstract is intangible. For example, you cannot touch love, beauty, wisdom, etc. These are merely concepts. But God is not a concept.  God is not a force, He is not a person but has a personality. The Bible speaks of a God you can relate to through varied forms. You can talk to God through prayer, and He answers, you can sense His presence too! God reveals Himself through dreams and visions. He interacts with man on a daily.  God is not an idea man came up with. Everyone can have an intimate and close relationship with Him and prove for themselves what the Bible says.  God wants us to have eternal life, which is an intimate personal relationship with Him. That is why Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly, hallelujah.

God is love

Image
1 John 4:8   Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.   If there is an attribute of God that is so popular and appealing to many believers and non-believers, it is His love. At least everyone is convinced that God loves them, and that is why He sent His Son to die for our sins, the greatest demonstration of love ever known. The Bible says someone can attempt to die for a good man or one who is righteous, but how on earth can you die for your enemy? Think about it. If one of the persons who killed your family, for instance (God forbid, it will never happen, just giving a scenario to drive the point home), by shooting them down is taken to the courts and sentenced to death by hanging. And out of the blue, you tell the judge to forgive the man, and since justice has to be met, you offer to take on the punishment instead of them! If that ever happens, I have never heard of it before; it would be the greatest news ever heard all over the world thro...

God is Just

Image
(Act 10:34) Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:  "It is really unfair" is a common statement for one who has been judged unjustly. Every time someone in authority takes a position that seems unfair to others, the ones to whom the ruling seems unfair feel bad. The question usually comes, why do people feel that fairness was not exercised? It is because they were created in the image of God, and they know what is morally right or wrong inherently within them. Any ruling not in line with that rubs them the wrong way. God's justice demands punishment for wrongdoing. The question is, "Is God punishing me for my sin that I do in the present day-to-day?" If He is doing so, then He Himself is not fair towards His Son, whom He punished on behalf of the sin of the entire world. When Adam and Eve sinned, God throughout the ages instituted animal sacrifices to atone for man's sin. An animal to die instead of ...

God is unchangeable

Image
(Mal 3:6)  For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. God does not change because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He can be relied on because His word is forever established in the heavens. His word can be predicted to come to pass. If He said it, be certain it will come to pass. Have you ever met an unpredictable and ever-changing person? One moment, their moods are calm; the next, they are angry and bitter. Such people are hard to work with and hard to please. Every time you get around them, you'd better pray they woke up on the right side of the bed, or they might act weird. If they lose a prospective client, the whole company will know; if they lose money, or someone else loses money by making a mistake, or even helping themselves with it without their permission, they become uneasy, and everyone will be uneasy because the boss is uneasy.  I have had an experience with a landlord who falls in that category. The person is ver...

God is Holy

Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of his glory. God is holy. He has no trace of sin in Him. He is completely sinless, righteous, and perfect. He is not tempted by sin, and neither can He tempt anyone. If He can be tempted and falls into sin, then He ceases to be God. He now becomes subject to the one who tempted Him.  That is where Adam and Eve lost it. They were already in dominion over the earth, but when they fell into sin, the devil became god over them because they literally yielded to his commands. The one you obey is your master. The hand that feeds you becomes your master.  When we yield ourselves entirely to th...

Omnipresent

Psalms 46:1 To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. God is everywhere at all times. He is not limited by space or time. The Bible says He is our present help in times of need. This means that whatever you may be going through, God is there in the midst of it. Remember the story of the apostles when they were aboard a sinking ship? Jesus, too, was in the boat.  As we have mentioned previously, avoid idle statements like, "Where are you, God?" Because He is right there with you in that situation. The Bible records that even in hell, God is there. How about you and I who are on earth? I remember when we were children, and in the night, you needed someone to escort you in thick darkness to go ease yourself in a pit latrine that was some distance away from the main house. On days when power blacked out, and you are doing your business, if you sense that your escort is nolonger in the vicin...

All knowing

Matthew 10:29-30 What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. God is omniscient. He is all-knowing. God knows all there is to be known. Every detail concerning us He is aware of it.  Those who serve idols have impersonal gods. Our God knows when a bird that is valued at almost nothing drops dead to the ground. He is aware when you lose a single strand of your hair. I thought He had wars to sort in wartorn areas, heavenly business, or even more important things to sort besides me. He is focused intent on you as much as He is aware of other things, hallelujah.  One of the things that made me fall deeply in love with God was the level of intimacy God has with us. What bothers us bothers Him. We are not like slaves who are sent out to work, yet they aren't so much appreciated or valued. We are of much value to God. A value which some abuse by sayi...

All powerful

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, God is omnipotent. Omnipotent comes from two words, Omni and potent. Omni simply means all. Potent means power. God has unlimited power. Like Ephesians 3: 20 says He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all things. The greatest display of power was in raising His son Jesus Christ. Men can create a few things here and there but cannot bring back people who are dead to life. Men create things from available things, God did not need anything to create the world, only His Word.  There's nothing God cannot do if it is consistent with His nature. If it is inconsistent such as lying there the Bible says He cannot do such. We serve the Almighty God. Further scriptures  Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Eternal

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God [is thy] refuge, and underneath [are] the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy [them]. If you didn't know, I am giving you God's attributes. Yesterday, we talked of God as one that is self existent or I AM. Today, we are talking about a God who is eternal.   Eternal also means everlasting. On the mission field, we get a number of questions about our faith. One of those is to do with time and how sure we are about the things we teach. For example, one would ask why isn't Jesus coming back after all these years? And you get to ask why a person who has just been around for a few years could arrogantly ask about infinite and eternal things of such nature yet they aren't asking in order to belief but to test our faith? Some things need to be believed as they are since we don't have time and seasons in our hands. Before we started knowing what we knew, God was, He is, and will alway...

I AM

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Yesterday I wrote about the Trinity. God is one in three and not three in one. He is I AM, which means the self existent one. There is nothing that brought Him into existence. Think about it for a minute and let it sink in deeper.  Cars are made from a car industry, phones from a factory somewhere, food is grown, paper comes from wood, but there is no reference point you can give as the source of God.  In fact, everything in creation derives its source from Him, but nothing created Him. If everything was created by Him and nothing wasn't made without Him, it means He is independent of the created beings. Creation depends on Him, but He is not dependent on it for survival.  Talking about greatness,  this means He is greater than all, hallelujah.

Trinity

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Trinity simply means three co-existent, co-eternal, co-equal supernatural beings in unity with the same essence or nature and substance.   Trinity doesn't mean there are three gods but one God in three (God the Father, The Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit). God is one in three and not three in one. The two statements are not the same. If you say one in three, it means God manifests Himself in three persons, while three in one means three gods who simply come together to be one.

Strength through grace

2 Timothy 2:1-3 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Paul admonished Timothy that, above all things, to first get established in the grace of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Grace is the foundation on which discipleship and endurance of hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ are built. Without it, one's life and ministry will easily be shaken.  Some people, after getting saved, get into all kinds of teachings, which are meats, yet they are spiritual babes that need the milk of God's word. Grace is one of the milk of the Word that will set them on course to be am established Christian and minister of the gospel.  Before even knowing about demonology, faith, angelics, prayer, finances, etc, they ought to know grace. Grace actually w...

Your company

Image
(1Sa 10:10)  And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. (1Sa 10:11)  And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets? The company you keep affects you in many ways, including your spiritual life. If you hang with the eagles, you are most likely an eagle, and you, too, will fly. If you hang with the prophets, you will also prophesy. This is what happened to Saul. He started prophesying, and people thought he was a prophet. It is called anointing by association. It does not matter whether you do not know how to pray, deliver healing, preach, or even teach; hang around those who do, and their anointing will rub off on you.  I remember a time when I was still studying. For some reason, all my friends w...

Pursue God

Image
(Exo 33:18)  And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. Have you ever wondered why you sometimes feel that God is not with you? Scripturally, you may be aware He is with you, and yet you do not feel His presence? I have discovered that God hides from us so that we can pursue Him. We have tasted His glory in various meetings and things we do, but there is a feeling that tells you there is more than you are yet to see. The more you are yet to see draws you again to search Him deeper, and when you feel like this is it, then you discover it is not it, and then you search more and more. It is like climbing a ladder that has intermediate landings. The landings are not the destination but a temporary stopover. We encounter landings in our spiritual journeys. You see a little success here and there. God uses you, and you see results here and there, and then you discover that there are other things you are yet to see or experience. That alone arouses more hunger for Him. You tend to pr...

Favour with God and man

Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. When God calls us into ministry, we ought to count ourselves blessed because it is a great honour. But after the call, men need to embrace that call for you to minister to them. If you are the only one who can see it, and no one else does, then there is a big problem. So the favour one gets is at two fronts, before God and before men.  Like I wrote previously,  if the call is not there, one will tend to force himself to lead the people.  But again, if the call is there and yet the people do not see it or are yet to see it, you will struggle. It is only by God's grace that we are able to know Him who called us to Himself and to the ministry. This knowing is not just mere intellectual knowledge but revelation knowledge.   Revelation knowledge is not taught but caught. The Spirit of God takes you into greater depths and unveils to you truths that you wouldn't have known by simply learning from another person teaching you. That's why the Bible says in the later days no man will say to another know the Lord for all will know the Lord through revelation. A person who is walking by revelation is not like one who's not. He is firm in his assertions, confident in the person of God, and assured of God's help all the time. It's the testimony Paul had onboard a ship, which was about to sink....
